AI is good at the pattern recognition aspect of analyst work, but as you said, it fails at understanding why things come to be or drawing higher order insights about it.
Understanding "why" is a pathway to preventative measures, which has a definite dollar amount for any business you work for (very high).
It's also an insight that guides future strategies and tactics, another human judgeument ability AI cannot possess that is extremely valuable for businesses.
Analyst work is something a lot of us niched into because it pays well and is challenging. If you're a really good analyst -- that is, if you ability is beyond basic checklists -- AI can't replace you, only make you better and more valuable to the businesses you serve.
